Vigan Heritage Village

Calle Crisologo and the Heritage Village retain the aura of historic Spanish times with ancestral houses, cobbled streets and Kalesas providing a unique ambiance especially at night.

An excellent place to shop for souvenir items and antiques.


Bantay Bell Tower

Bantay Bell Tower is a significant historical and cultural icon located in the town of Bantay. Built in 1591, it  once served as a watchtower for the Spanish colonists as a defense against the potential risk of invading pirates.

Dancing Fountains

The water fountain show set to music starts at 7:30 pm every night and lasts for 30 minutes in Plaza Salcedo.

Santiago Cove

Dubbed as the Boracay of Ilocos because of its kilometer of white sand beach, the calm waters make it perfect for swimming. Surrounding the beachline are rows of cabana painted white and blue.



Festivals

Vigan Longganisa Festival on the 22nd January each year celebrates the Longganisa, a local sausage with a creamy garlic flavour.


Vigan Fiesta follows a few days after the Longganisa festival, and is a week-long celebration in honor of St Paul the Apostle starting January 25th. It fills the streets of Vigan with colorful exhibits,Carnivals and street dances.


Viva Vigan Festival of Arts during the first week of May promotes Vigan’s Cultural and Historical Heritage. The highlight is on May 3rd where the celebration starts with a mass at the cemetery chapel followed by dancing in Calle Crisologo and a parade of Kalesa.


Kannawidan festival commemorates the separation of the two provinces Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte in 1818. A showcase of indigenous performances, religious rituals and Ilocano Food usually held last week January and first week February.

For the authentic flavors of Ilocos try Vigan Empanadas in Plaza Burgos or pick up some Pasalubong to take home such as Vigan Bagnet and Longganisa.
